Hi, I'm Lisa, the new owner of Hedgehog Farms, and I am thrilled to have
this opportunity to share a wonderful assortment of books, wooden toys, natural playthings
made of wool and silk, baby products, musical instruments, arts and craft materials and
kits and so much more! I will strive to continue with the same spirit of enjoyment of all
the beautiful items as well as service to you, our valued customer. I am in awe of the
skill and time that goes into making all of our handcrafted items and I think how
fortunate our children are to have the opportunity to enjoy magical play with them! I also
love to read all the fantastical stories in the wonderful storybooks we have for all ages.
The books are beautiful and the costumes and silks are exquisite!
The underlying goal of Hedgehog Farms will
continue to be to provide the best in children's books and handcrafted toys, as well as
Waldorf resources and supplies, to help you 'parent against the mainstream' at affordable
prices. We actually have access to far more than what can be presented on these pages, so
if you don't see it, please ask. Although I love Hedgehog Farms just as it is, surely it
will continue to evolve to meet your needs. Your comments and suggestions are so
important, please keep them coming!
I certainly share Nancy's philosophy: "
Childhood is a wonderful and magical time. Children need the serious work of play to learn
about the world and themselves. We as parents must strive to do our best to provide the
best start possible for our children and protect the very magical time of childhood."
The products we carry are lovingly made by
artisans who pride themselves on their work. They, too, are family run and we are proud to
offer their handiwork. Other items are specially imported from England and Germany. We try
to keep popular items in stock, however if something has to be back-ordered it may take 3
to 4 weeks for delivery. (Please keep in mind that holidays are busier than other times.)
For most orders we ship within 10 working days.
My husband and I were parents at the Housatonic
Housatonic Valley Waldorf School in Connecticut where we learned how important
it is to allow our child the space and time to enjoy their childhood, and we have
recaptured some of our youth along the way! I hope you enjoy the following pages and
remember to.....
